Lajedo - Fajã Grande

Lajedo to Fajã Grande along the south-west coast, through three valleys and then the lava fajãs of Fajãzinha and Fajã Grande. The middle stretch passes Mosteiro and the best views of the Rocha dos Bordões, the basalt columns that are the island's signature geosite. Medium, 13.2 km, three and a half hours; the stream crossings are slippery after rain.
