Caminho dos Burros: Vertente Norte

The northern half of the old donkey road, from the Caminho das Lagoas in the central highlands down towards the north coast. The upper section crosses peat with Sphagnum and a significant stand of the endemic Euphorbia stygiana; lower down the path narrows into dense woodland and splits, one branch to São Miguel Arcanjo and one to the Baía das Canas. Graded medium, 8.9 km.
