On Friday 6 November Fernanda Botelho runs a hands-on workshop on São Miguel about edible flowers and leaves, with tasting. Participants try roses, safflower, nasturtium, pansies and sages, as well as the leaves of dandelion, plantain, nettle, clover and sweet potato. The session covers their medicinal and culinary uses, the traditional knowledge around them and some modern applications, such as natural colourings in cooking and other crafts. Entry is free. A good pick for cooks and gardeners curious about what grows by the roadside.
The workshop is on São Miguel, but the listing names neither the venue nor the town or time; check before going.
