The I Fórum da Vitivinicultura Açoriana runs in Madalena on Pico from 29 October to 1 November 2026, organised by the Azores Wine and Vine Institute (IVVA) with the Madalena council. Under the theme "Atlantic wines: identity, innovation and future", growers and producers discuss where Azorean winemaking is heading. The first Azores Certified Wines Competition is part of the programme, and its awards are handed out on 1 November at the closing session. Entry is free. It is a sector event in Portuguese, so it mainly suits visitors with a serious interest in Pico wine; the prize-giving is the moment to catch.
