Cerrado do Bailão in Angra do Heroísmo, on Terceira, turns into a drive-in cinema for Halloween weekend, with free entry to both sessions. At midnight at the end of Saturday 31 October it shows Hokum, O Pesadelo da Bruxa, a suspense film in keeping with the season. On Sunday 1 November at 16:00 the afternoon belongs to A Magia da Árvore Longínqua, meant for all ages. The midnight horror is for adults and late-night types; the Sunday session is the easy one to bring children to. Both are free, so there is little to lose if you are on Terceira that weekend.
