Água Retorta

A circuit of the village of Água Retorta in the south-east, beginning at the church built in the 1870s onto a 17th-century bell tower. Farm tracks climb to a view over the village, Pico Bartolomeu and Pico da Vara — and on a clear day Santa Maria — then drop through cheesewood and fayatree woodland near the sea. Graded medium, 5.1 km, two hours.
