Lagoa das Furnas

A circuit of the Furnas valley and its lake. From the village it passes the Santana church and the Poça da Dona Beija hot pools, climbs Pico do Milho for the view over the valley, then rings Lagoa das Furnas past the 19th-century Nossa Senhora das Vitórias chapel, the José do Canto garden and the fumaroles where the cozido is cooked. Easy, 9.4 km, three hours.
