PSP seized cash, cocaine and hashish during an operation in Rabo de Peixe, Ribeira Grande, and three suspects were arrested.

PSP arrested three men aged 17, 23 and 37 in Rabo de Peixe, in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, on suspicion of drug trafficking crimes.

According to the Regional Command of the Azores PSP, the 37-year-old was arrested under a detention warrant, outside flagrante delicto, during non-house searches linked to a drug trafficking investigation under way since the start of 2025. The 17-year-old and 23-year-old were arrested in flagrante delicto during the operation and were strongly indicated for drug trafficking.

Authorities seized €6,043 in cash, 47 individual doses of cocaine and 450 individual doses of hashish during the operation.

After their first judicial interrogation, the 17-year-old and 23-year-old were ordered to remain at home under electronic monitoring. The 37-year-old was placed in pretrial detention.

The Regional Command of the Azores said preventing and helping to repress drug trafficking are operational priorities.
