The fifth Encontros Quadrivium de Música Contemporânea takes place at the Arquipélago arts centre on São Miguel on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 November. On the first evening, pianist Diana Botelho Vieira plays Litanies du feu et de la mer I and II by Emanuel Nunes. On the second, the Grupo de Música Contemporânea de Lisboa and the Ensemble Contemporâneo of the Sinfonietta de Ponta Delgada perform Alis by Jorge Peixinho together. Entry is free while seats last. Rewarding if you already follow new music; for a casual listener it is demanding but costs nothing to try.
Practical information
At Arquipélago on São Miguel, in Ribeira Grande on the north coast; from Ponta Delgada a car or taxi is the realistic option. The listing gives no start times.
