"Do Mar à Terra: As Despensas de Rabo de Peixe" is a video installation by Rubén Monfort Meseguer, accompanied by sound design from Gonçalo Valério and curated by António Pedro Lopes. The exhibition invites the public to journey through Rabo de Peixe by showcasing one of its most unique and authentic traditions: the Danças das Despensas. More than just a festive manifestation, the Despensas represent a space of gathering, sharing, and belonging, where tradition, devotion, and generosity coexist. Through music, dance, gastronomy, and social interaction, a collective experience is built, passed down from generation to generation, reinforcing community ties and local cultural identity.
