On Sunday 8 November the Associação Agrícola de Santa Maria holds its members' and farmers' day in Vila do Porto. It starts at 08:30 with "Café com as Vacas", coffee and a visit to two livestock farms. At 10:30 come talks on Santa Maria premium beef, the future of meat farming in the Azores and support for small producers, followed by mass at 12:30. At 13:30 there is a convivial lunch with a tasting of Santa Maria meats and live music. Members and their spouses go free, non-members pay €5 and children up to 12 are free.
