Heritage evening at Castelo Branco parish hall, Faial

On Monday 2 November at 20:30 the parish council building (Junta de Freguesia) of Castelo Branco on Faial hosts a Serão à Conversa: an open, informal evening where residents talk about objects and the stories behind them. Since late October the hall has been showing an object from the parish's own past, and people are asked to bring forward other objects and memories that could go into an exhibition at the island museum. The series is run by the Museu da Horta ahead of its 50th anniversary in 2027 and is touring every community on Faial. It is a village gathering rather than a show, and most useful to visitors with some Portuguese and an interest in how the island remembers itself.
